You Can’t Fight It

You can’t fight the land, and you can’t fight Entrecard.

There is a Bushman’s saying. “Don’t Fight the Land. Accept the droughts and floods and clear blue skies, and live through them all.” It means that whatever it is the land you’re standing on throws at you, you’ve got to put up with it, and you might as well be happy about it. That, or move elsewhere. But if you love the land, there’s no way you’re going to move anywhere else.

The same applies to Entrecard. You use it, you like it. Heck, most of you reading this now came here through it.

And more than a few of you have complained at the thought that soon, people will be able to just buy credits. Officially. Through Entrecard. With money.

Yes, this will change the Entrecard Economy. No, the sky will not fall down.

Live with it. If this does actually turn out to be a catastrophic decision when the dust has settled, then Entrecard can reverse it.

You know, it might even be a bonus for us bloggers, who my get busy advertisers who don’t want to drop cards, but still want to advertise on us. Or we could ever earn a few bucks selling surplus credits. Those contests offering credits might actually be worth something all of a sudden. You never know.

So stress less.

“A Bushie never has more baggage than he can carry.”

You must learn your limitations, both in life and in the Internet. There’s a maximum number of projects you can manage at once, any more than that and all your projects will suffer.

I see it fairly commonly on the Internet, especially among Bloggers. They have a dozen ideas that they want to implement and make successful, but once they’ve set up their blog, or bought the domain, they lose momentum because of all the other things they have to manage. They just have too much to do! So those domains and blogs sit there, gathering dust and using up money.

So what do you think you could do to prevent over-burdening yourself? The one thing I’d suggest is to try your ideas out before you make any commitment to them: white a dozen posts and see whether you can really do it or not. Browse for themes before hand to see if you can get started straight away. Check out the competition, or the keywords.

That way you wont find yourself with half a dozen never-updated blogs that show a heap of potential, but you just can’t get off the ground. And if you do, you can try to sell off unused domains, or let your free blogs go idle and wait until you can get back to them.

Remember: Only take on what you can carry.

You’ll Always Find Water If You Keep Digging Where You Started

Bush Lake

If you dig deep enough, for long enough you will find your reward springing up all around you. The water is there, somewhere, so there’s no need to go digging in the same place as everybody else. In fact, if you are digging in the same place as everybody else, it’s going to be very crowded, and there’ll be hardly any water left to wet your whistle.

The only solution is for everybody to find their own space, and get going with it. I don’t need you in my personal space, and you don’t need me in yours.

This is one of the concepts behind the ‘niche marketing’ belief. If we’re all writing the same thing, then the pickings are slim because we’re all sharing the same water, and there’s never enough to go around. Compare the flocks of make-money-bloggers all digging together to that one, lone writer blogging about their hat.

So put on your hat, and dig up that water. Just make sure you can swim when you’re up to your armpits in it.

You may crave a cuppa, but the billy will never boil if you don’t light the fire!

Fellas all over the internet have high hopes and dreams for their websites. Whether they’re dreams of money, fame or more selfless reasons, most would-be webbies end up disappointed.

The reason is, they expected it all to be easy, for their visitors and fans to come easily, followed shortly by advertisers and money. People don’t give you things just because ou reckon you deserve it. You get things by working hard and earning them, or when a rich relative dies and left you something.

If you want to enjoy that sweet cuppa tea, you’ve got to light that fire and let it boil. You’ve got to do the work if you want any of the rewards.

Quit moping. Quit whinging. Get into some honest work and earn your cuppa.
